Christophe Lac began studying music in Puy-en-Velay, before obtaining a Gold Medal in clarinet and best in class at the Conservatoire Massenet de Saint-Etienne.
He continued his studies further at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Genève and the Tibor Varga Music Academy in Sion under Thomas Friedli.
Christophe Lac joined the Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain as a clarinettist in 1997, and has since performed many productions in France and abroad (Festival Présences, Manca festival, IRCAM, Archipel festival, Milan festival, Witten festival, Why Note, Musica Nova, Messiaen). He has also recorded several albums with the EOC (Ondrej Adamek, Gilbert Amy, Edison Denisov, Hugues Dufourt).
He currently teaches the clarinet as part of Les Ateliers des Arts at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement du Puy-en-Velay. He creates poetry-focused, multi-disciplinary educational projects with the drama classes.
